Towards Safer Crossings in Shipley

Through our long term collaboration with local Living Streets chapter, Shipley and Saltaire we’re excited to be working on a creative community engagement and collaborative design project to develop concept designs to reimagine some of the most hostile streets and spaces for people walking, wheeling and cycling.

With funding from Shipley Town Council and the now closed BSTA (Bradford Shipley Travel Alliance) we will be working with young people, older people and disabled people using healthy street audits and participatory mapping to prioritise locations and road safety issues. We will then work with an experienced highways designer to workshop possible interventions to improve key areas for our most vulnerable road users and reduce the dominance of traffic locally.
