Safe Streets Becontree
Safe Streets Becontree project was part of the Department for Transport’s emergency response initiative to make streets safer for walking and cycling in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Street Space worked intensively, alongside residents in Becontree to understand traffic issues in the area and develop a range of interventions to create safer streets for walking and cycling. Through door knocking, creative online workshops and pop up activities we developed designs in collaboration with local people and went on to support the borough with the implementation of the temporary traffic calming scheme.
