Activating & Testing a Ginnel Garden Guidebook
An extension to our initial commission to collaboratively design a Ginnel Garden Guidebook, the Public Health team at Bradford District Metropolitan Council supported us to activate the Guidebook at a neighbourhood level, by exploring what other approaches, alongside the Guidebook, might inspire, enable and support residents to act.
In Keighley we worked with a Local Engagement Producer to create a peer group to support resident led action to begin to transform a fly-tipped snicket, in Manningham we tested the Guidebook by distributing it to locally embedded organisations and in Tong, we worked with a locally rooted cafe and community association to support their dream to green the shopping parade to celebrate both Winter and Spring with a small amount of ‘no strings’ cash support.
“I’m blown away by what you’ve achieved in such a short space of time”
Nicola Kelly, Public Health Specialist, Bradford Metropolitan District Council.
